3/8/02:     Depart San Francisco for Tokyo ~ United Airlines

                 Tokyo to Beijing ~ United Airlines

 

3/22/02:  Depart Hong Kong for San Francisco ~ United Airlines

                San Francisco to Denver ~ United Airlines

                Denver to Milwaukee ~ HOME!   

 

The following is our itinerary once we are in China!

3/8      Leave U.S. for Beijing.

           

 

3/9      Arrive Beijing in the evening.

            When you arrive, get your baggage, go through Customs and exit this part of the airport.

            Your local guide is waiting for you outside Customs & Immigration.

  Met by your local guide Sunny Liu (13301052184 cell).

            Go to the Peace Hotel.

            (It is appropriate to tip the luggage handler about $1 per family upon arrival).

 

3/10      Tour day (Great Wall, Lunch, Summer Palace).

 

3/11      Tour day (Forbidden City, Lunch, Temple of Heaven).

 

3/12      Leave for Xian on flight WH2124 at 1105 arriving 1305.

   Met by your local guide Sophie Wang (13909187675 cell).

             Go to the Tangcheng Hotel

             (It is appropriate to tip the luggage handler about $1 per family upon arrival).

 

             Receive your child at the hotel. Congratulations!

 

3/13      Adoption Registration in the morning.

 

    Each applicant brings:  2 passport size photos, 3 passport photo page copies and 3 China visa pages ready.  This  applies to non-traveling spouses, as well.

           

NOTE:  You will use your child’s Chinese name to fill out all paperwork.

If you have changed your address and have an update home study, it is imperative that you maintain consistency of address with all paperwork and in all interviews with BOTH governments while you’re in China.

 

Adoption Notarization in the afternoon.

            Apply for your child’s passport.

 

3/14      Waiting for notarized adoption papers.

            Rest, tour or shop.

 

3/15      Waiting for notarized adoption papers.

            Rest, tour or shop.

 

3/16-17 Weekend.

            Rest, tour or shop.

 

3/18      Receive the notarized adoption documents.

Parents: Check printing, spellings, and photos very carefully!

You must make sure all addresses, spelling, etc. are correct.

Alert your representative IMMEDIATELY if anything is incorrect. 

Failure to have 100% correct documents can mean that the U.S. Consulate refuses to process your child’s entry visa into the U.S.

 

 

3/19      Receive your child’s passport.

            Parents: Check printing, spelling, and photos very carefully!

Alert your representative IMMEDIATELY if anything is incorrect.

 

            Leave Xian for Guangzhou on flight WH2305 at 1640.

Welcomed by Raymond (13903062956-cell), Alice (13922766758 cell) or

Go to the China Hotel.

(Again, it is appropriate to tip the luggage handler about $1 per family upon arrival).

 

3/20      Children’s visa photo and physical in the morning.

            Make sure Option Form 157 is completed before you go to the clinic.

 

Prepare for the next day:

Fill out forms I-600, I-604 and Option Form 230. Same address and same applicant as you did on

I-600A. If you moved during the time your dossier was in China, you must bring a Home Study

Update for the purpose of address change.

 

NOTE:  The I-864 is no longer required of single parent families or married couples where both parents travel to China. 

           

3/21      Raymond delivers the visa document packets to the U.S. Consulate Adoption Unit in the morning.

            Go by bus to the U.S. Consulate to take oath in the afternoon.

Adult travel companions must remain on the bus or stay at the hotel.

 

3/22      Raymond will give you the CCAI Adoptive Family China Adoption Trip Experience survey.

Please take a few moments to fill it out and return it to Raymond today. Thank you.

 

Raymond goes to the Consulate to pick up all the visas.

Raymond returns from the Consulate and hands out the visas.

DO NOT OPEN YOUR CHILD’S VISA PACKET!!!!!!!!!

 

3/23      Fly to Hong Kong at 8:25am arriving HK @ 0900.

            Please check in at least 3 hours prior to departure.

Leave HK for the U.S.

(Please refer to your travel itinerary for exact time.)
