Welcome! Christmas 2007

May 25-29. 2001 Once again, it was a whirlwind weekend of fun with Fern & Mark Boivin, Gay & Greg Atkinson and Sean & Susani Amuan (The same crew that went to Nantucket last year)
Kirk & I flew into Newark airport. That is where Fern & Mark picked us up in their van with Sean & Susani to take the additional 4 hour ride to Ocean City. Greg's parents own a summer home just outside the hustle & bustle of Ocean City Maryland. We had beautiful weather by day, and thunderstorms to sleep by at night. Ocean City is a summer community, similar to Atlantic City with the 1+ mile boardwalk with shops, eateries and a lot of "fun" stuff!! Here is a small view of the Boardwalk as we try to make it to the end (we never did!). The picture of Kirk and Sue is taken on the Boardwalk also. You can see the beach with the Atlantic ocean is on the other side!
Crabbing is a big past-time in these parts. Although we did not have time to go...the eating of crabs was a good past-time for those interested. See below that Kirk shows off his crab as everyone digs in for a meal in the dining room. For the others, the boys cooked steaks on the grill in the rain!
Aside from a rousing game of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, our evening entertainment was seeing Fern and Mark challenge to get the cork out of the bottom of an empty wine bottle. They had seen it done a few days before, and thought they would try it! Ever seen it done yourself?? Well, be sure to get a sturdy towel...
The other thing that this area is known for are the wild horses on the beach in Chincoteague. We drove out to the beach in the morning and walked the trails, but the horses were so far out that we only saw a few in the distance. Sorry, no pictures because they would have looked like little pin dots. That afternoon, the girls went antiquing and the guys all went to the bars & beach! A good compromise for all. We met up that night for dinner at the hotspot in town called Seacrets. (visit www.seacrets.com) Looks like we are in the Caribbean? No...they actually import hundreds of palm trees every year! Dinner was great, but...
Well, until we all meet at our unknown destination for next years vacation...enjoy the memories.
