That was a golf swing that you just
heard!
Well, we finally made it to Hilton
Head to visit Sue's Uncle Lew and his wife Maudie! Cousin Chris took us on the
travel adventure with Continental Airlines, starting at 6:00am out of Milwaukee. We got
to Houston to meet up with Chris at 9:00am. Since our expected flight was not to
leave again until 1:25pm, we went for a nice brunch at the Marriott in the
airport. We chatted, ate, ate and chatted! When it came time for our flight, we
got bumped off the 1:25pm (traveling stand-by), and the next flight was not until 7:20pm.
So,
Chris took us into downtown Houston and we toured around and went to the Imax Theater! What fun!
Finally, we made it to Columbia, SC
at 11:00pm. Since it was a 2 1/2 hour drive to Hilton Head, we crashed for the
night at a hotel and began driving the next morning. We finally got to our destination at
11:00am!! It was so worth the wait and adventure, because we had a great time
visiting!! Uncle Lew will be turning 85 in August, and he and Maudie are
enjoying retirement at The Cypress on Hilton Head Plantation. Here are some
